 The
AquaDDM
is designed
to provide
maximum
mixing
efficiency
as an
independent
mixing
source
or in
conjunction
with
aeration
devices.
For
those
aeration
applications
where
the
mixing
energy
requirement
is greater
than
the
aeration
requirement,
the
AquaDDM
will
provide
mixing
more
efficiently
than
a combined
aeration/mixing
device.
This
may
result
in considerable
energy
savings
while
providing
greater
flexibility
of operation.

Anoxic
Mixing
with
AquaDDM
Mixers
Biological
nitrogen
and
phosphorus
removal
processes
can
be successfully
achieved
by establishing
anoxic
zones
within
a treatment
system
and
maintaining
a high
degree
of contact
between
the
biomass
and
the
substrate.
These
completely
mixed
anoxic
zones
can
be created
with
the
AquaDDM
mixer. In
addition
to being
highly
effective
for
the
denitification
process,
anoxic
mixing
can
also
be helpful
as a
selector
mechanism
to control
the
growth
of filamentous
bacteria,
improving
the
settling
characteristics
of the
sludge
mass.
Accessories
Anti-erosion
Plate
- for

the
AquaDDM
is installed

Flow
Assembly
- converts
the
downward

of the
AquaDDM
to a
horizontal

This
arragement
is ideally
suited
for
use
in long
narrow

 Introduced
in 1969,
the
Aqua-Jet
aerator
revolutionized
the
aerator
industry,
and
may
possibly
be the
most
specified
aerator
in the
world.
Aqua-Jets
are
installed
in a
wide
variety
of treatment
schemes,
including
activated
sludge
systems,
such
as SBRs,
MSBRs
and
extended
aeration,
as well
as aerobic
digesters,
sludge
holding,
equalization
basins
and
Lag-Nite
systems.
Aqua-Jets
are
also
incorporated
into
lagoon
applications
such
as complete
mix,
partial
mix
(facultative)
and
dual-power
multicellular
systems.
No
matter
what
the
application,
municipal
or industrial,
Aqua-Jet
aerators
provide
unequalled
reliability
and
long
term
performance.

Internal
Structure
A.
The
motor
is totally
enclosed,
fan
cooled
and
rated
for
severe
duty.
Total
maintenance
consists
of motor
bearing
lubrication
2-3
times
annually
depending
on motor
size. B.
Labyrinth
seal
guard
prevents
upward
migration
of water
from
contacting
the
lower
end
bel
of the
motor
and
working
into
motor
bearing. C.
The
cast
diffusion
head
is designed
to withstand
the
constant
stress
from
the
upflow
spray.
It's
strong
flanged
connected
to the
volute
ensures
that
no vibration
or fatigue
occurs. D.
The
one-piece
shaft
design
eliminates
the
vibration
and
maintenance
problems
inherent
in coupled-shaft
designs,
providing
greater
strength
than
304
or 316
stainless
steel. E.
The
anti-deflection
insert
provides
support
for
the
shaft
should
debris
be ingested
into
the
unit.
Under
normal
operating
conditions,
the
shaft
runs
free
of support
by the
insert. F.
The
volute
is constructed
of heavy
wall
stainless
steel
to withstand
constant
duty
in corrosive,
abrasive
and
high
velocity
propeller-induced
flow. G.
The
float
is filled
with
a closed
cell
polyurethane
foam
that
adds
to the
structural
stability
and
prevents
sinking
if excessive
damage
should
occur. H.
The
propeller
is a
two
blade
design
cast
of 316
stainless
steel
and
features
a 180o
sweepback
for
non-clog
operation. I.
The
intake
cone
provides
a smooth
transition
of flow
with
minimum
headloss. J.
The
fluid
deflector
contains
the
thrust
washer
and
protects
the
anti-deflection
insert
from
upward
liquid
flow. K.
The
optional
draft
tube
is a
volute
extension
used
to extend
the
intake
of the
aerator
to a
greater
depth.
